Professional Experience

Independent Graphic Artist, April 2010 to Present
Graphic Arts

- Accepting graphic arts related work as time allows.
- Have my own graphic computers, scanners, printers and software, including all required Adobe CS6 programs.


Maptech Aeronautical Data, July 2008 to April 2010
Senior Graphic Designer/Graphic Arts Specialist

- Graphics: Created over 200 detailed, high resolution Level 2 and Level 3 airport approach plates for use in Maptech onboard Electronic Flight Bag.
- Responsible for critical, time-sensitive Level 1 graphic plate changes related to FAA.
- Regular updates for all 359 U.S. airports. Also responsible for time-sensitive changes to all international airport diagrams and aircraft parking plates.
- Video: Created customized runway approach videos for Special Pilot in Command Qualification Airports.
- Publications and manuals: Created and updated all electronic books and manuals.
- Internet: Created the Maptech Aeronautical Data website.


Maptech Inc., September 1996 to July 2008
Senior Graphic Designer

- Catalogs: Responsible for design of mail-order catalogs and product catalogs targeted to both professional and lifestyle markets.
- Internet graphics: Designed product images and created artwork for the Maptech website.
- Packaging: Technical design and structure die designs of retail packaging, plus in-house die designs for packaging labels and DVD labels.
- Direct Mail: Designed successful direct mail pieces targeted to professional map users. 
- Print Advertising: Designed print ads for boating and outdoor recreation magazines.
- Sales and Marketing Collateral: Designed flyers, product sheets, PR images, trade show booth graphics and proof-of-concept layouts.
- Books and Maps: Assisted with the design and production of guidebooks.

Inter-Con Security, July 2014 to Present
U.S. Department of State Armed Diplomatic Security Sergeant.

- Supervisory position.
- Assigned to sergeant duty at the National Visa Center, the Bureau of Consular Affairs Building and the National Passport Center at Pease Trade Port in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.

Responsibilities include:
- Supervise on-duty security officers and complete related post inspection paperwork on all posts. Discipline when needed.
- Oversee and coordinate on-site and off-site response personnel during incidents which include all security related issues, fire alarms, medical emergencies, potential threats to employees and property, and security related building maintenance problems.
- Offence/incident report writing.
- Ensure proper procedures are followed during emergency situations.
- Assist in training new security officers with regard to specific posts.

Inter-Con Security, July 2010 to July 2014
U.S. Department of State Armed Diplomatic Security Officer.

- Active U.S. government security clearance.
- Assigned to security duty at the National Visa Center, the Bureau of Consular Affairs Building and the National Passport Center at Pease Trade Port in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.

Responsibilities include:
- Entrance Control—operating and enforcing a system of personnel
identification.
- Roving Patrols, both inside and outside the locations.
- Fixed Post at the entrances to the facilities, as well as monitoring closed-circuit television systems.
- Ensuring compliance with building rules and regulations.
- Receiving, issuing and accounting for all special keys to the facilities.
- Responding to all emergency situations and following all prescribed protocols.
- Operating the x-ray and magnetometer equipment.
- Searching and scanning for weapons and contraband items.
- Dealing with customer and employee concerns in a diplomatic manner.
- Report writing.
